NEP 2020: What is Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)?

Abstract:
The Prime Minister had launched the Academic Bank of Credit on July 29, 2021, the first anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a virtual/digital storehouse that contains the information of the credits earned by individual students throughout their learning journey. It will enable students to open their accounts and give multiple options for entering and leaving colleges or universities. The scheme will include all kinds of courses offered by the Higher Education Institutes and which are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), be it a graduation course, postgraduate course, Ph.D. courses, diploma courses, certificate courses, etc. The present research article will enable us to understand the concept of Academic Bank of Credits and the role academic bank of credits will play in the academic progress of the students.
