Abstract:
India’s teacher education system, comprising programs like Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), is the cornerstone of the nation's education framework. These programs are meticulously designed to impart knowledge of pedagogy, child development, curriculum design, and assessment methodologies. However, a glaring disconnection exists between the theoretical orientation of these programs and the practical competencies evaluated by Teacher Eligibility Tests (TETs) and recruitment exams like the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT).
