Abstract:
The teacher is the backbone of the education system. All learning activities are implemented by the teacher in the classroom. The teacher is the first contact person for children in the school. This paper examines the role accorded to the teacher in the educational philosophies of Nai Taleem, Integral Education and the curriculum document NCF 2005. All three have different contexts, focus and pedagogies. The role advocated for the teacher is as per the requirement of the larger philosophy.
